The Michigan Equine Political Action Committee was formed this week to represent the entire equine industry. MEPAC is a committee formed by Michigan Equine Partnership Board of Directors at their annual meeting which was recently held in Mason.
Kim Fricke, President of Michigan Equine Partnership, an industry driven, grass roots organization of equine interest said, “Forming a political action committee is essential to carry out the mission that the membership has developed. We will be participating in the election process and educating those candidates running for public office on the equine industry in Michigan and the financial impact it has in our state.”
Michigan Equine PAC will be sending questionnaires to all candidates filing for state office, reviewing the answers given, endorsing candidates, formulating news releases in their respective districts and making contributions to campaigns through the campaign finance process.
The policy makers in Michigan deserve to understand the economic, tourism and agricultural value to this state of the equine industry.
